I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE!

Wowee! This has been a LONG time coming! Welcome to my new space! I’m so excited you’re here and that I can finally share this with you. I cannot wait to begin posting funsies for you all again.

First, let me invite you to take a look around and allow me to give you the grand tour! If you haven’t already been to my homepage, please take a moment to check it out. There are links to every page of my site on the homepage so, it’s a one stop shop! Also, as I mentioned, I now have a “services” page where you can learn more about the specific work I’ll be doing as a nutrition coach and, eventually, running and triathlon plans. I say eventually because I’m currently still in the process of studying for my Certified Personal Trainer certificate. I hope to have that completed in another month or two, but more on that later.

If you’re new to my site feel free to visit my “about” page to learn a little more about my story and how Askew Nutrition & Fitness came to life. I also have a library of blog posts to the right of the page here that you’re welcome to read through. Most of the content currently on this blog was imported from my previous blog Priscilla Loves to Run, but there’s some fun reading in there.

Now, let’s get to the good stuff!

I have missed you all so much! I can’t tell you how many times in the past six months that I have wanted to post about what’s been happening on the daily! There were so many exciting things that kept happening, but I spent my time working diligently on my website and trying to make it perfect instead. Eventually, I realized that it’s never going to be perfect and will ALWAYS be a work in progress. You will probably see more changes to my pages over the next few months, but I just couldn’t wait any longer.

 So, let’s catch up!

Obviously, the most exciting thing for me has been the launch of Askew Nutrition & Fitness. Just getting to this point was a huge task. Starting your own business is super scary and incredibly intimidating. I had no clue where to begin. I have learned so much in the last year! I’ve read countless books and connected with so many private practice RDsDTRs and personal trainers. I’m so fortunate to have had the opportunity to get feedback and advice from people who have been there. If you’re an RD or a DTR who is looking to start a private practice, I HIGHLY recommend joining the Nutrition Entrepreneurs practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. I’d say 80% of what I learned about starting my own business came from resources in that group.

Also, I have the esteemed pleasure to announce I was selected as a 2018 regional ambassador for the Women for Tri program of the Ironman Foundation. It was truly an honor to have been selected. To be honest, I applied thinking that I would never be accepted. I apply for tons of ambassadorships that I’m never selected for year after year. I thought this would just be another one of them! So glad that I was wrong.

Women for Tri works to increase female participation at all levels of triathlon. I’m so excited to be a part of their mission to break down the barriers women face and help them take part in the sport of triathlon. This sport has given me so much! I just love that I now have the opportunity to give something back. This season you’re going to see me out at all the races and in the community quite a bit.

I’m still working part-time for Nuun Hydration as well which means if I’m not at a race sharing the Nuun love, I’ll likely be there sharing the Women for Tri mission and providing resources for Women who are interested in getting involved. With that being said, I want to hear from YOU! If you’re a triathlete here in the north Texas area and would like to get involved with Women for Tri, let’s touch base. My goal is connect with more tri clubs and really start activating in the community. I’d love to partner with you to host an event and help your club bring women into triathlon. There may or may not also be free Nuun in it for you 😉

As for this blog, I’m very excited to share everything that I have planned this year. As I begin to grow Askew Nutrition & Fitness and begin to take on clients I hope that you’ll think of me. Whether you’re just starting your health journey or you’re well on your way, I want to be there to cheer you on and provide educational resources and inspiration. You can expect to see lots of healthy recipes, fun fitness events, training plans, and lots more fun here.

As always, if you see me out at a race course this season stop and say hello!
