Let’s start by talking about what you’d like to achieve. You can schedule a 15 minute discovery call with me to discuss your goals. Whether you just want to eat better or fuel for your first 5k, I’d love to help create a game plan to help you achieve those goals.
Why yes I can! I offer a variety of meal plans both custom and static. Custom meal plans will require a nutrition consult and subscription to service. Visit the Meal Plan page for additional details and be sure to check out the recipe packs available for download.
I would encourage you to think outside the diet box! What is best for you won’t be found in any single diet, but creating goals custom tailored to YOUR needs will ensure your success. At Askew Nutrition & Fitness I recommend a generally balanced diet, low in highly processed foods, excess sodium and refined sugar, and full of lean meats, heart healthy fats, and lots of fruits and vegetables.
Nutrition is highly individual. What you should eat will depend on several factors including timing of meals/workouts, your personal nutrition goals, food preferences and availability, and your performance and recovery needs. For general recommendations, check out the Eating for Optimal Performance Program.
Counting calories is not necessary to live a healthy lifestyle. However, if you are an athlete with increased nutritional needs or a client struggling with proper nutrition, it may be beneficial for you to start a food log for me to review. During our consult, if we find that you need additional assistance, you will have access to the food and mood journal so that we can work together to meet your nutritional needs.
Fun fact: “Organic” refers to a method of farming NOT a health claim. When you see “organic” on a label it does not refer to the nutrition content such as the calories, fat, salt, sugar or vitamin content of the food. “Organic” simply means the ingredients were grown using organic farming methods. Nutritious foods – whether conventionally or organically grown – are those that provide the body with fibre, vitamins, minerals, protein and other key nutrients.
Askew Nutrition & Fitness services the DFW metropolitan area, but is a 100% virtual practice. All consults, programs, meal plans and services are delivered in digital format through the HIPAA compliant client portal. If you are client receiving coaching services and require an in-person meeting, please email me for availability.
I do not accept insurance at this time.
