Happy New Year! Welcome back to every day life. If you’re like me, you’re probably getting back to a normal routine this week. I took a much needed break over the holiday season to rest and spend time with my family. While it was absolutely wonderful, the time has come to get back to it.
This past holiday season, Santa was good to me. He brought me so many treasures from my wish list including a few cooking gadgets.
If you’ve ever enjoyed a long walk down the kitchen department aisles, you’ve noticed the sheer amount of kitchen gadgets available. Some of them are extravagant, while others make for really helping you get healthier meals on the table quicker, which is why they were at the top of my wish list this year.
Instead of going wild and buying it all, I thought I would share 7 of my favorite kitchen gadgets worth the splurge that you’ll use daily for making incredibly healthy and delicious meals in an easier way.
1. Veggie Spiralizer
Whether you love noodles or simply want to sneak in more veggies, getting a veggie spiralizer can help you effortlessly churn out noodles of all sizes made entirely from vegetables. It only takes a few minutes, and the best part about it is that from start to finish, you can have your dinner on the table in anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes total! You can find several varieties sold at just about any grocer or department store. I found a super simple one at the dollar -store but if you’re feeling more like a top chef, splurge one a multi-tool like this one.
2. Instant Pot
No time to get dinner in your slow cooker before you rush off to work? The Instant Pot is a game-changer because you can shove frozen foods in there and have dinner ready fast. You can make just about anything in it too, whether you want chili, soup, chicken, beef, fish, or an all-veggie meal. With this kitchen gadget, you can’t say you don’t have time to make a healthy meal.
3. Reusable Silicone Bags
Ok I admit it, I’m a little behind on learning about some of the more eco-friendly food storage products out there. I recently had the honor of working with Simple Mills on a blog post and they were kind enough enlighten me on overuse of plastics and the need to find reusable containers. They sent me some AWESOME eco-friendly products to make snacking on-the-go easy, including reusable silicone bags.
If you’re worried about surrounding yourself with so much plastic (and really, you should be), cut the clutter by getting reusable silicone bags. You can store everything in them, and they create an airtight seal. No more spills in the fridge that no one wants to clean up. They’re great for portioning out meals too and for meal prep, plus no more waste since you can use them over and over again!

4. Air Fryer
Ok, this was one of the items on my Christmas wish list and Santa did not disappoint! It uses circulated air to get your food to that crispy texture you love without the need for oil or deep frying. Wilted veggies become delicious with an air fryer, plus you can make fries that you feel good about giving the kids. I made a delicious batch of crispy air fried chickpeas this past weekend and have been munching on them all week. De-licious!
5. Immersion blender
I love your my food processor and nutri-ninja blender as much as the next person but sometimes I hate all the added transferring of ingredients and clean-up. An immersion blender makes it easier to blend ingredients by taking the blender to the food and will save you plenty of time, plus you can wash the attachment in the dishwasher. It’s great for taking up less space in your kitchen too and can handle making sauces, batter, spreads, and plenty of other things. I store my in the drawer with all my other sauce utensils.
6. Silicone Baking Mat
Say goodbye to scrubbing your sheet pans! Silicone baking mats are
reusable, safe to wash in the dishwasher, and are environmentally-friendly.
This non-stick surface makes rolling dough, baking goodies, and roasting
fish or veggies effortless.
7. Rasp Grater
Tired of grating your knuckles by mistake every time a recipe calls for lemon zest? A rasp grater has a long, soft handle that makes grating easier than with a traditional-style grater. You can add more zest to your foods in more ways than one and get a perfect grate every time! I use mine for grating everything from spices like cinnamon and nutmeg to ginger root and even chocolate.
So there you have it! My favorite kitchen gadgets for eating healthier. With these handy kitchen gadgets in your kitchen, you won’t have any excuse not to whip up a first-class healthy meal fast. Have a favorite kitchen gadget that I didn’t mention? Share in the comments below. I’m already building a new list for Santa.
