Virtual Coffee Date

Hello world! My blog is alive again! Sort of….

You’ve probably noticed a few posts recently. I’m trying to start blogging again, but honestly I’m not pressuring myself this time around. I ALWAYS say I’m going to try and post regular content, but the truth is, I’m not a writer and I sure as heck don’t have a ton of free time these days.

Which brings me to today’s post!

I wanted to take a moment for all of YOU. So, grab a cup of hot (or cold) coffee and let’s catch up! How the heck are ya?!

So, let’s see. When was the last time we caught up? I think my last Virtual Coffee Date was last fall! Gosh, so much has happened since then. 

If we were having coffee today, I’d tell you all about my new(ish) job! 

Last December I took a leap of faith and quit the job I’d been working at for the last 6 and a half years. It was super scary, but the timing could not have been more perfect. I randomly got a tip about a job opening with the American Heart Association and it literally sounded so perfect for me. It was the only job opening I’d seen in years that truly encompassed all of my expertise. My resume is sort of all over the place and I always thought that would work against me, but then this job magically popped up and it was exactly what I needed! A little bit of health, wellness and nutrition, a little bit of event activation, a little bit of admin, and BOOM the perfect job! Not to mention, it was an “in” to an organization I had always wanted to work for. I mean c’mon it was the AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION! How could I say no? 

Anyway, everything happened so fast and has pretty much been a whirlwind ever since. I was so scared you guys! I haven’t started a new job in SO LONG. It was really nerve racking to go from knowing everything about a company to having to start from the beginning. I’m sure you guys can understand. 

Not to mention, I was still trying to get ANF off the ground and launching my private practice. I definitely didn’t want to lose any momentum by starting a new job.  I’m so glad that I took a chance though because I really do love working at the AHA. Its growing and stretching me in ways I never considered before. AND now that I’m working for an organization that centers around heart health and wellness I’m exposed to an environment that inspires creativity in me again. Which means I have a renewed sense of motivation for ANF! 

If we were having coffee today, I’d also tell you that I accomplished a lot in Q1 for ANF and will finish Q2 just as strong. I launched a monthly newsletter and free e-book which was huge for me! Especially since I wasn’t blogging. I really wanted a way to regularly communicate to my audience and my clients. Plus, it’s been a really great way for me to share free resources like recipes, nutrition tips, and make announcements on new products. If we were having coffee today, I’d also tell you about launching my first ever e-course too! It’s a 30 day email course targeted at helping you get healthy and feel more amazing. Every week participants receive wellness tips, healthy recipes for dinner and snacks, a super market guide, pantry makeover tips, and so much more.


I told you Q1 was productive! It feels really great to be able to finally share products that aren’t just 1:1’s with clients. If you’re interested, you can read more about it and register for the program here.

What I really wanted this course to  be, for me, was a beta test for future programs. It’s always scary to launch a course whether it’s live or otherwise. I learned so much! Can I also share that the first 10 people signed up and received the ENTIRE program in a weeks time? *doh!* You live and you learn right? I was SO embarrassed, but I fixed the issue and things have been running smoothly ever since. I’ve also started working on a few additional courses, a live webinar series and even a challenge! You guys! I feel like I have so many ideas. Eeek! I cannot wait to share it all. 

If we were having coffee today, I’d tell you that I haven’t been making much time for running or triathlon this year. It’s been such a busy year so far and I’m literally doing ALL the things. I’ve been more of a weekend warrior the last 6 months. I try to get out there but I’ll be honest, life happens. It’s happening A LOT right now too. My focus these next few months is getting my rear in gear and getting back to it. I try to take my own advice during times like these. 


“Life happens in seasons. Some seasons are better than others. Some seasons are busier than others. Don’t beat yourself up about it! Stay fluid and do what you can. Remember that you can ALWAYS get back at it. It’s NEVER too late.”

With that in mind, I started looking for ways to get myself motivated and discovered my office had a new run club. So, I signed up! We had our first 5k this past weekend. Another perk to working for an organization that values health is that they make it REALLY easy to move more.  Every office has some sort of workout lounge with a treadmill or small gym. I don’t even need to leave the office if I want to workout anymore. Work hard, sweat harder! I’ve recently been toying with the idea of doing my second Ironman in 2020. It should be easy to get those lunch runs in with a treadmill in the office next to me! We’ll see what the next few months bring. 

Well friends, that’s what I’ve been up to. Just a busy little bee over here. New jobs and owning a business can sort of take up all of your time, but I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way right now.
