Can you believe it? Today is New Years Eve!!!! Happy (almost) New Year!!!! All week I have been counting down the days in anticipation. Today I opened my blog and scrolled back to my New Years post for 2015. Talk about motivation! I had no idea what was in store for me in 2015, but I sure did know that optimism would get me there. Here I am one year later and I’m so proud to say that I accomplished all of my goals for the year. I have NEVER been able to say that before. Sometimes we don’t need to know HOW we’re going to get there, we just need to BELIEVE that we’re going get there. You have to have faith in yourself and you need to be determined. As I reflect on this last year I have to give thanks for all the relationships I’ve made. I didn’t know it at the time but I was building an army of support for myself. Surrounding yourself with like minded people, people who can share your struggles and successes, makes all the difference in the world. I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to to give up on my race season between March and June. My races were being cancelled one after another, I was slowly recovering from injury, and my spirit was quickly fading. Every time I logged into my blog or social media [of any kind] I was plugged in to motivation. From my family at Fit Approach, Girls Gone Sporty, and Dallas Fitness Ambassadors to the blogs I follow and especially my closest friends and family. All around me were people reaching for their goals, inspiring me to keep going after mine. I can’t thank them enough for being that beacon of light when I was in my darkest moments. Now, I don’t normally make New Years Resolution, but I’m always thinking about what I’d like to accomplish in the year to come. This year is no different. I’ll be representing for Team Nuun as well as my ladies at sweat pink, girls gone sporty, and Dallas fitness ambassadors. I want to make this year sparkle with sweat! I want to hone in on my athletic abilities and focus on becoming the athlete I know I can be. I want to branch out and try new things! I’ve seen so many people trying Cross Fit, Barre classes, and so many more exciting ways to get fit. There is a world of fit fun out there that I’m excited to explore. I’ve created my race calendar for 2016, but I don’t want my fitness journey to end there. I know that in order to grow I need to do more, explore more, and sweat more, but I’ll know I’ll get there. I’ll leave you with this final thought: As you enter the new year, be thinking about your accomplishments in 2015. Let yourself rejoice in them, and let that be that platform that springs you into a motivated and optimistic 2016. Forget about what you didn’t do or what you thought you failed at. None of that matters. Surround yourself with motivated people, people who believe in you and who will motivate you. Believe in yourself! Know that the new year will be filled with great things and that you WILL kick ass. There may be set backs, but you will over come them. Know your accomplishments and that you CAN expand on them in 2016. On ward and up ward! Stay motivated and optimistic! Happy New Year, Priscilla
