DIY Blog Planner

The end of 2015 sure did creep up on me! I can’t believe Christmas is only 4 days away! The new year will be here before we know it! I’m literally scrambling to get all my last minute things done and make some New Year Goals.

One thing I really wanted to focus on in the new year is writing more. Over the last year I’ve focused more on my blog but it’s still just been something I do when I feel like I have free time. The trouble is, it’s rare that I regularly have “free” time. So in 2016, I’m planning to get organized and build some sort of structured plan.

I’ve seen so many fancy planners floating around lately that are oh so cute, but you know me, If I can DIY it or find a deal, I’m better off. I took to Pinterest and searched “free printable planner pages” I found a ton of great posts on blog planners, but decided to go with this one because of the bright colors and page layout.
I’m not really looking for a daily life planner and wanted my planner to be simple and focused on blog planning only. There’s a monthly calendar and a weekly planner breakdown with room for post ideas, to-do list, and even weekly social media stats. It’s very simple and to the point. Perfect!
I also wanted to be able to separate the months into sections so that they would be easily identified and accessible. I did a quick google search for cover page images and found one that I could customize for both the front cover and the monthly cover page. I used an app called Font Studio to add text. I love that app! It’s available for both Android and Apple devices and has a ton of super cute fonts to choose from.
I uploaded those images to my Google+ account in order to share them with all of you. You can download them here. Now, you can put these pages together in any way that you’d like. I chose to bind mine like a spiral notebook so that it would be easier to carry. You could also just toss them in a 3 ring binder or large folder if that’s easier.
I have one of these fancy binding machines in my office at work and used it to punch holes in all the pages. I then purchased 8mm spiral spines, and a clear page for the front cover and thick black page for the back. After I had everything sorted and hole punched I just used the spiral spine to bind it all together and viola!
I just love the way it all came together! I’ve already started planning my posts for the new year and I cant wait to begin sharing all of my ideas. How are you planning for the new year?
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Blogging,
